Someone suggested we should skip down the path.  So there we were all happily skipping along when suddenly Becky shrieked, "Snake!!!!"

Fat Tire Fest!

Two weeks ago we went up to Cable for the annual Fit Tire Fest.  We stayed at Delta Lodge, as usual, on Lake Delta.

Of course, there was the race.

Bob (above) crossed about a half hour ahead of Taylor (below, yellow jersey) and Mike (blue jersey), who rode with Taylor the whole way on her first time riding the full race at Chequamegon.

Becky had fun taking pictures of Mike's family.

We hiked to Morgan falls with Bob & Lee Ann on our way home Sunday.  Though, just to be clear, in the picture below that's Ben and his Grandpa.

Then they went back to the lodge and we continued home with a short detour to Copper Falls.

Whitefish Dunes

The week after Labor Day Becky, Tabby and I drove up to Whitefish Dunes.

There were a bunch of Monarchs there.

We went up to Cave Point as well.

Took a walk through the woods.  Becky found some cool, cute little mushrooms.

Labor Day

Like we have for the last couple of years, we spent Labor Day in Sheboygan with Jack.  This might be the last year we get to do that.  On 11/4 he checks in to boot camp at Ft. Benning.

The kids spent a little time playing at Jack's place with his cats and Xbox while Becky ran to the store.  We grilled up some lunch at Lakeshore Park, then went down by the water where Becky could snap some pictures.

Two Rivers' Kite Festival

The last Saturday in August there was a kite festival in Two Rivers.  Becky read about it in our paper, read they were going to do a lantern launch and decided we had to go and take Tabby with us.

It was fun.  The launch was at Neshota Park, which was one of our favorite places when we lived in Two Rivers.  And it was a big deal.  Music, food, the beach and of course, kites. The lantern launch wasn't exactly, you know, that scene from Tangled.  But still pretty dang cool.  There must have been hundreds of lanterns in the sky.  The lighting made pictures difficult, but it was fun to be there.  At the end there were fireworks.

Another cool thing was running into the Wilmotts, a family from church here in Green Bay.  Scott Wilmott manages Lakeshore Credit Union in Manitowoc and was there because it is one of the festival's sponsors.

Sam!

Becky took Sam out for a couple photo sessions to get his senior picture.  I don't know which they're going to choose as the official one ... but if I understand correctly it's not this one.  It's my favorite, though, so I'm putting it up here.

Ore to Shore

Last month we went to the annual Ore to Shore race.  There was bike racing, of course. But mostly there was family hanging out together.  It was a great time.

We stayed at a new place this year.  A very nice set of cabins on a small island in a lake.  They were comfortable, roomy, and it was a beautiful location.

After the bike race we went to a place called Black Rocks.  Black Cliffs?  Something like that.  A place to jump in the lake.

The cabin location was beautiful.

The kids had fun on the water.

Becky had a few picture sessions with the girls.

The Williams' brought along a friend named Kayla.  She and Tabby got along splendidly.

On the way back we found some falls we hiked up to see with Bob & Lee Ann.
