is enlisting. Jackson has been batting around the idea of joining the military since his senior year of high school. Last Friday he turned in his enlistment papers to join the Army, took the ASVAB and got his physical. He's got some follow up on the physical with our doctor, then he's off to Ft Benning.
I've got to say that as parents Becky & I have mixed feelings about it. I mean, we're very proud of Jack. He's a great young man and we support him 100%. At the same time, well ... when I told Tabby that Jack was going to be a soldier I think she voiced what we were all thinking, but no one wanted to say. "Do people die there?" How do you answer that? Well, not on purpose, but sometimes. They train not to. They look out for each other. She seemed satisfied with that. I guess I am too.
So yeah, we feel some apprehension. But more than that, we're proud of Jack.
